DIY Upscale your dress to GUCCI Style
Instant upscale of your sweater dress
Check out my Gucci outfit for $50 (without handbag price). Gucci DIY we are absolutely in love with. You ask why? Well, Gucci allows you to bring your own taste into the style with their custom DIY service. Keep it simple or go bold with multi-prints. We are loving the busy styles but opted for a simple picker-upper to repurpose your old sweater dresses.
DIY patches for clothing
give an instant glamour to an old boring sweater dress, and you can look expensive while you’re at it.

How to make a Gucci Sweater dress
STEP 1: Gather supplies: you will need your sweater dress, iron, cotton cloth, patches (in this case 2 patches)
Click the image to purchase the exact dress we used.
STEP 2: Place patches on chosen spots on the dress. Make sure you are using a hard surface, as you will need to press down on top of patches while ironing
STEP 3: Place cotton cloth overtop patch, begin ironing on high setting. Press down hard while ironing for 1 minute. Check that plastic on the patch is not burning as it can stick to your clothing. Once the letters have started to stick, peel away plastic covering.
STEP 4: Repeat step 3 without plastic to ensure patches have stuck.
There you have it. Perfect upscale to GUCCI DIY, and instantly look expensive while you’re strutting your stuff.
Styling Gucci Dress with discounted designer items
This dress turned out perfect. I kept it simple but added just a couple of patches to give a quick lift and of course, instantly created an expensive look. The pantyhose/tights are so chic, especially the graffiti style, but in this case, the monogram GG gives the look an added edge. Shackets are so in this season so I’ve thrown that overtop the dress for an added layer of warmth and a bit more fun to the outfit. To finish off the look I’ve gone with a Gucci Soho bag paired with the shacket and white Dr. Marten Aunt Sally Sinclair platform boots, or the Gucci Ophidia bag with the Dr. Marten Jadon platform boots.

I am staying with our theme of discounted designer items in this post from the earrings all the way down to the handbag. Unfortunately, Dr. Martens very rarely go on sale but for everything else I was able to locate the discounted suppliers. The price including the discounted handbags will bring you to around $150. Awesome deal I think!
Accessorizing with Gucci, and Dr. Martens
I’ve accessorized with Gucci Earrings and Dr. Martens shoes as well as GG monogram fishnet tights. Click the links to be directed to the supplier’s stores. Happy shopping and enjoy strutting your stuff in your new and upscaled designer Gucci outfit!
