An Interesting decorating of your favourite denim jacket using Gucci patches
This DIY project is extremely fun and motivating because it is something that can be worn on any occasion at all hours of the day. Denim Jackets are my absolute favorite statement fashion piece. By adding these gorgeous patches it instantly becomes an upscaled glam statement piece.
Gucci Patches and 3D patches were used
in this denim jacket decorating. You would also need an iron and fabric glue to glue on the non-iron type 3D floral patches.
Step 1 : Line up all the 3d Floral patches first. Keeping the vine style flowing toward the outer edges of the jacket. I followed an image of a GUCCI L’Aveugle Par Amour denim jacket as a reference to add on the Gucci-specific patches in their respective spots. You may re-arrange after you begin gluing.
Step2: Leave a large enough space in the middle of the jacket to have the tiger float on top of the vines and move the heart shape and floral small vine that usually exists on the bottom of the real Gucci denim jacket to the upper back area of the jacket.
Step 3: Cut out all along the black edges of the iron-on patches so that it looks like actual embroidery sewed on the jacket rather than patches.
Step 4: Begin gluing the base 3D layer patches. I roughly glued the large ones then went back later to glue in detail all the small edges using a toothpick.
Step 5: Wait for the glue to dry before beginning this step. Iron on the remaining iron patches. There will be a few needed under the arm area and also on the sleeves and front of the jacket. Iron must be on the highest setting. takes about 5 min per patch. Move the iron over the entire patch continuously. Iron from the opposite side of the jacket to press directly against the glue side of the patch. This helps the patch stick to the iron.
Step 6: Sew on Gucci Tag to the inside of the jacket
