Late 90’s Early 2000 fashion trends are back!
Okay, so I tried out the incredibly popular Doc Marten Sinclair Aunt Sally platform boots in the daring white. Remember when all we wanted to get our hands on in the ’90s was chunky boots?
Well, I sure did, though I lived in a very…VERY small town, we got the Doc Marten boot memo. But back then it was a style that mostly darker fantasy, quieter, non-athletic, skater or vampire loving, Marilyn Manson (the singer) loving people would wear. It definitely wasn’t a South Asian vibe, but I still loved them, especially the yellow thread. I wasn’t EMO but I just really like how powerful they looked. Plus you could seriously kick any annoying schoolyard bullies with them and it would do the trick. I am by no means saying I was violent as a kid, nope not me, it was more so what I observed…..I was, on the contrary, competitive, at an alarming level 😅. That’s the straight-up truth.
NOW Dr. Martens have made their way into seriously uptown, preppy, chic, Paris fashion. The show CLUELESS comes to mind. And you can pair these amazing boots with complete mismatching outfits like runway dresses and midi skirts. I am in love with this fashion styling and will be forever.
Why are Doc Marten Aunt Sally’s here to stay?
Pros of Dr. Marten Aunt Sally Boot:
Well, they are just absolutely gorgeous; Very sturdy, the leather is flexible and has an elegant grainy look, they can be worn two different ways (with laces only, or with zipper and laces weaved up the side border) and most importantly extremely comfortable.

They feature an airwalk sole so it feels like you are bouncing when walking. If you have ever tried Hooka One running shoes well it honestly gives that similar feel of cushion and also height.
Cons of Sinclair Aunt Sally
PLEASE NOTE: These boots will disturb your heels if you have opted for the smaller more snug fit. I do not like my shoes flopping around so I have to put a soft gel insert on back of heel area as I blistered up while wearing these for a longer walk around town,
They can feel a bit heavy while walking. The part of the boot where your toes bend isn’t that flexible so it changes your walking pattern a bit.
SIZING
These boots are true to size. They fit like a true US 8 in a running shoe or a US 8.5 heel dress shoe. There is a bit of extra width in the front of the foot and I think this is because it doesn’t have a narrow curve at the front. I recommend not wearing short socks with these as the back of the heels will rub against the back. If you have extra wide feet I would size up.
Overall it’s an absolute win for fashionistas looking to get creative while being comfortable.
